DOCTOR, DOCTOR

I never dreamed I would write a book, though certainly many have prompted me. So, I started out with nothing but the intention to tell my story. For posterity. For future generations to learn from my experience. Whether by accident or subconscious design, my journal became a book and the events and characters that populated it came to life. Doctor, Doctor is the story of a four-year period of time in my life when every decision I made had a powerful consequence that affected not only me, but the lives of those I loved. In the years since, it has lived on in my mind in a continuous loop. Unrelenting. Perhaps I can now leave many of these events and the questions that surround them inside the pages of my novel and let them go - a memory box I can open and close at will.

As much a well-crafted mystery as a memoir, Freer’s story is a page-turner, a detailed study in the ways we fool ourselves while in the pursuit of something we want – or think we want. A mind-bender that continually prompts the reader to ask: What could possibly happen next? And then something does.

I was riveted by this story of one woman's quest for love and her struggle to save the man she loves

without losing herself.

We all want to feel desired, validated, appreciated, and loved.  Susan is no exception.  Succumbing to excitement, passion, and love, she ignores warning signs and betrayal in a love triangle filled with addiction, manipulation, unethical behavior, and power struggles. Definitely a page turner.

Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart

and try to love the questions themselves.

Do not seek the answers, which cannot be given you

because you would not be able to live them.

And the point is to live everything.

Live the questions now.

Perhaps you will ... gradually,

without noticing it, live along some distant day

into the answer.
